
The Public Health programme at Iqra’a University is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and practical competencies needed to improve the health and well-being of communities. The programme focuses on the prevention of disease, promotion of healthy lifestyles, and management of public health challenges at local, national, and global levels.
The Bachelor of Science in Public Health provides a strong foundation in key areas such as epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health, health promotion, and disease prevention. It explores how social, economic, and environmental factors influence health outcomes, and how effective policies and interventions can be developed to address public health issues.
Students gain practical experience through community-based projects, fieldwork, and case studies, enabling them to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world health challenges.
The programme also emphasizes research, data analysis, and evidence-based decision-making, preparing graduates to design, implement, and evaluate public health programmes.In addition, the programme promotes ethical practice, leadership, and community engagement, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to work collaboratively in diverse settings and contribute to sustainable health improvements.
It is accredited by the Medical Council of Malawi.
